A modern shopping centre comprising of several interconnected buildings with shopping lanes in between. There are over 200 shops here with clothing, food and electronics. The shopping centre is located in Västra Frölunda, Gothenburg.
Ecopilot® was installed in the existing control and regulation system in order to modernise the shopping centre and reduce the already low energy consumption. The technical status of the buildings varied, but the technical system design with a parent system was similar. In connection with the Ecopilot® installation, an expansion of the buildings by 50,000 m2 was also conducted.
Heating: 11 kWh/m2
Cooling: 1 kWh/m2
Electricity: 1 kWh/m2
115 tonnes CO2/year
Frölunda Torg now has a significantly lower total energy consumption than before the extension owing to the installation of Ecopilot®. The indoor environment in the shopping centre has also been improved as the internal loads are handled in a more efficient manner.
Frölunda Torg now has a C-classification in accordance with the European standard for energy efficient buildings. This corresponds to 75–100 per cent of the new construction requirement for premises. Without an Ecopilot® installation, Frölunda Torg would have a D-classification.
